The four storey building will house two cutting-edge industry-standard theatres, film studios, media, computing and editing suites, plus recording and photography studios, dance studios and rehearsal rooms as well as bespoke practical spaces for hospitality, media make-up and special effects. It will be situated at the corner of New Bridge Street and Great Ducie Street, opposite Manchester Arena.

Catalyst Building, Stoke

The overall Project is a £27m design and construct for Staffordshire University which will become a flagship state-of-the-art facility for apprentices and digital skills.

The Catalyst building includes an Apprenticeships & Digital skills hub, a new library, social learning spaces, restaurant and café areas.

Sir Henry Royce, Manchester

Arcadis, together with its project team members; Arup, Laing O'Rourke, NBBJ and Ramboll have revealed designs for the Henry Royce Institute at The University of Manchester. The £235m project will be the UKs leading centre for advanced materials research and commercialisation.

Located at the heart of the University of Manchester's Engineering Campus, the 16,000sqm building will house world-leading materials scientists, state-of-the-art equipment and collaborative space for industrial engagement. It will enable the UK to grow its world-leading research and innovation base in advanced materials science and technology.

The building is expected to cost £150m and is expected to open in 2019. At 46 metres high, the Institute is expected to be the tallest building on campus and a prominent new landmark on the Manchester skyline.

The design of the Henry Royce Institute building will promote science on show with laboratories revealing their complex workings, alongside spaces for visitor engagement and imaginative displays of research material and products.

Nexus, Leeds

SCS Contract Scope:

The buildings 6,684m2 is spread over six floors. The ground and first floors are mainly triple-height spaces, focused on communication and collaboration and the hub of Nexus, whilst the second to fifth floors will be rentable office and lab space.

The ground floor will house: exhibition space; an 80-cover cafe; a business lounge; a 120-seat lecture theatre; four seminar spaces (each seating 70, with sliding partitions to create two, three or four spaces); and open/semi-private space.

The first floor will have further extensive open/semi-private collaboration spaces and 12 meeting rooms. It will house the teams from Nexus, Research and Innovation services and other University business facing professional service teams.

The second floor will have 12 lab spaces each with write-up space, eight initially fitted out at category 2 and four as generic labs that can be used by businesses for mechanical and electrical/electronic research and development. The second floor also has office space, and the remaining floors are 100% office space. There are some 60 office spaces, ranging from two-person spaces upwards.

The University's other world-class, multi-million pound centre will see industry-led development in Graphene applications in partnership with academics. The £60m Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC) will be an international research and technology facility.

The Heath, Runcorn

The redevelopment of the School included the creation of sports facilities including a triple-height four-court hall suitable for national badminton competitions and the installation of a three-storey school building.

Two multi-use games areas one with provision for two tennis courts and two netball courts and the other with four tennis courts and three netball courts.

SCS Contract Scope:

The seven schools across Bradford, Kirklees and North Yorkshire have an estimated capital value of £100m - £150m.

SCS secured the order for the 3 schools which form phase 1 of Yorkshire PF2 schools, we have been assigned Drylining, Surface Finishers, Suspended Ceilings, Feature Lightwell Bulkheads, Acoustic Panelling, Bespoke Finishes to Sports Hall Wall Linings on Samuel Lister, Belle Vue and Harrogate High School.
